Transport Minister Witnesses Railways Authority, EBRD Agreement

Egypt’s Railways Authority, International Cooperation Ministry and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have signed an agreement to supply the authority with six new trains at a total cost of 126 million euros.

Minister of Transport and Communication Ibrahim el-Demiri, who attended the signing ceremony, said this came within efforts to improve railways’ safety, security and comfort.

In the meantime, Head of Railways Authority Samir Nawar said the authority was working on implementing an overall development system that matches with the international standards.
