Tehran Urges Egypt Permits to Allow Iranian Aid to Gaza

A top Iranian diplomat has urged the Egyptian authorities to speed its approval of the permits required to allow the passage of aid to the war-torn Gaza strip.

Hossein Amir Abdollahian, deputy foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, said that the delay in issuing the permit is “unacceptable”, reported the Iranian News Agency.

He added that first group of wounded 57 Palestinians are waiting for an Iranian relief plane to take them on an urgent basis to Tehran for treatment.

Abdollahian did not specify when Iran asked for the permit though.

At least 1245 Palestinians, mostly civilians, died in Gaza since Israel started its offensive on July 8, according to the latest death-toll by health officials.
