Sisi Discusses Middle East Issues With German FM

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received on Wednesday 362015 German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.

They discussed the latest developments in the region topped by the situation in Syria and Libya as well as ways to resume peace talks between the Palestinians and Israelis, the spokesman said.

Also, Sisi and German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Sigmar Gabriel attended a closing session of the joint economic committee as the President witnessed the signing of four deals with Siemens for generating 14,400 megawatts through establishing three thermal power plants in Egypt, Youssef said.

Youssef quoted the German minister as hailing the performance of the Egyptian economy. He also commended cooperation and ties between his country and Egypt.

During the session, the President delivered a speech in which he hailed a remarkable progress in boosting ties between Egypt and Germany. Youssef quoted Sisi as welcoming German investment in all fields, especially in the energy field.

Sisi said the Egyptian government is pressing ahead with legislative steps to improve the investment climate, the spokesman added.
