SIS – Media Cooperation With Omani Information Ministry

In the framework of the role of the State Information Service (SIS) to support media relations between Egypt and the world countries, Chairman of SIS Ambassador Salah Abdel-Sadeq signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Oman’s Information Minister Abdel Moneim bin Mansour to activate media cooperation between Egypt and Oman.

Ambassador Abdel-Sadeq said the SIS is seeking, at the current stage, to sign several MoUs and cooperation protocols with foreign information institutions in an effort to provide a media message consistent with the volume of the historical relations between Egypt and the world.

He added that the cooperation fields aimed at following up exchange of visits, information and printed and electronic publications, to push forward the media relations between Egypt and the world.

Attending the signing ceremony from the Omani side were, Omani Amdassador in Egypt and permanent representative to the Arab League Sheikh Khalifa Bin Ali al-Harthy, press counselor of the Omani Embassy counselor Hood el-Alawi and a delegation of senior officials of the Ministry of Information. From the Egyptian side, Information Minister Doria Sharaf Eddin and a number of SIS leaders, in addition to a large number of Egyptian journalists, attended the ceremony.

It is worth mentioning that, the MoU comes to activate the cultural agreement signed between the two countries in 1974 and the media cooperation protocol signed in 1983.

In the same vein, Ambassador Abdel-Sadeq held meeting with chief of the China’s Xinhua regional office in Cairo Chen Yong to make arrangements for the signing of MoU between the two sides, who have agreed in principle to sign during the last week of May.
