Shokry Meets Arab, African Libya Envoys

Foreign Minister Sameh Shokry met Thursday Arab League (AL) special envoy to Libya Nasser al-Qudwa and African special envoy to Libya Dalita Mohamed Dalita who was appointed by the African peace and security council in May.

Shokry discussed with the two envoys the latest developments in the Libyan arena in light of the security and political conditions there and the results of the Ministerial Conference of Libya’s Neighboring Countries held in Tunisia on July 13 and 14.

During the conference, it was agreed that Egypt would head one of the committees dealing with the Libyan file to help the Libyans rebuild their country.

The two African and Arab envoys reiterated their keenness on coordinating with Egypt as a neighboring country.

They underscored also Egypt’s essential role at the Arab and African arenas, according to spokesman at the Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel-Atti.

During the get-together, Shokry expressed Egypt’s concern about the deteriorating security conditions in Libya, underlining the importance of supporting the Libyan government in building state institutions to fulfill the aspirations of the Libyan people.
