President Sisi Receives Message From Japanese PM

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Saturday at the presidential palace with Japanese MP Nobuo Kishi who handed him over a message from Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Attending the meeting were Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri and Japan’s Ambassador in Cairo Toshiro Suzuki.

Kishi expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s role in the region and support for the Egyptian initiative aiming at halting Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip as well as achieving a truce between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.

El Sisi underlined that Egyptian-Japanese relations are deep-rooted, adding that Egypt is keen on promoting economic relations between the two countries.

The Egyptian president underscored that the country is now amending its investment laws to lure more foreign investors, adding that a new administrative capital for Egypt is now being established.

El Sisi reiterated also that the world countries should cooperate to curb terrorism not only from the security aspect but also from the economic one by overcoming poverty and creating job opportunities for youths.

He expressed hope that Japan will lift travel restrictions imposed on some Egyptian cities.

For his part, Kishi said that he will pay a visit to Luxor which will promote tourism in the city.
