President, Italian FM Discuss Bilateral Relations

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting on Saturday 1972014 with Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini on the latest developments in Libya and means to boost cooperation between Egypt and Italy.

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shourki and Italian Ambassador to Egypt Sandro De Bernardin attended the meeting, Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Ihab Badawi said.

During the meeting, the Egyptian leader highlighted the g ties binding the two countries.

Also, Mogherini emphasized the importance of cooperation at economic and investment levels.

“Italy is a key partner to Egypt,” Sisi said, pledging that all challenges facing Italian businessmen here will be addressed.

The president called for looking at the human rights situation in Egypt through a strategic and comprehensive approach, taking into consideration the sensitivity of the phase the country is passing through.

Also, Sisi welcomed Rome’s support for Egypt by lifting its warning on travel to South Sinai.
