Positive Indicators in Expats Voting in Presidential Polls

Egyptians living abroad began on Thursday 1552014 to cast their ballots in presidential polls, as some lines to the polling stations abroad stretched several kilometers long.

This came in initial reports sent by embassies and consulates abroad, especially in East and South-East Asia and the Gulf region, to the operations room at the Foreign Ministry.

The voting process is being held normally and without any obstacles, added the operations room at the Foreign Ministry.

The Egyptian consulate in New Zealand’s capital, Wellington, was the first to open voting Wednesday at 11pm Cairo local time (CLT), said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Badr Abdel-Atti.

Egyptians will have to choose between the former army chief Abdul Fattah el-Sisi and Hamdeen Sabahi, who came third in the 2012 presidential election.
