Police Disperse Pro-Brotherhood Protest in Alexandria

Police forces dispersed two pro-Muslim Brotherhood protest in Alexandria’s Raml and Sidi Beshr areas on Friday.

The police arrested five Brotherhood supporters during the dispersal of the demonstration.

The arrestees were found to possess anti-police and army leaflets and petrol bombs

The police tear-gassed the demonstrators in front of al-Jihad Mosque in Raml after the noon prayer, an Aswat Masriya witness said.

The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy has called on its supporters to stage week-long demonstrations starting Friday to voice their rejection for ex-Defence Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s presidential bid.

On the other hand, dozens of pro-Sisi demonstrators gathered at al-Qaed Ibrahim Mosque in Alexandria’s Mahatet al-Raml to express their support for Sisi in the imminent elections.
