Planning Minister – Growth Rate in 2014-2015 to Hit 3.5 Percent

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ashraf el-Arabi said on Monday 1252014 that the 2014-2015 economic and social development plan will benefit all Egyptian citizens through developing poor areas and towns especially those in Upper Egypt.

During a symposium held at the Middle East News Agency, the minister asserted that the plan is expected to increase economic growth rate from 3 to 3.5%.

He pointed out that the volume of expected investments ranges between LE 330 to LE 340 billion.

The rate of investment is expected to rise from 14% to 15%, he further noted, pointing out that the volume of private investments will be around 65%.

The new investment plan will include projects at a cost of LE 4 billion and will take into account contributing to solving the unemployment problem in Egypt, el-Arabi added.
