Minister – Egypt Keen On Reaching Unified African Stance On Climate Change

Egypt is keen on reaching a unified African vision over climate change in preparation for presenting it at the Paris conference, slated for December, said Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy.

In press statements, Fahmy said that the Paris conference is an international gathering, in which each country will put forward a plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that lead to climate change. He said that Egypt will provide its plan together with the African plan to address climate change.

“These plans are optional not mandatory,” Fahmy said. He stressed that applying these plans will contribute to reducing the severity of climate change.
