Mandago Threatens to Reject Drugs From Kemsa

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has accused the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency of failing to supply adequate drugs to counties, despite being paid for the supplies.

He said his county may procure drugs from directly from manufacturers. Mandago said Uasin Gishu paid for drugs worth Sh30 million, but Kemsa supplied drugs worth Sh24 million. “We are not happy with Kemsa at all and unless they improve, we will source for drugs directly because after all Kemsa is not a manufacturer,” he said.

The governor was speaking in Eldoret town yesterday after receiving drugs from Kemsa for 110 hospitals. He was with Health executive Eunice Siria and county secretary Peter Lelei.
