High Voter Turnout Among Egyptian Expats in Jordan – Ambassador

Egyptian expats in Jordan have flocked to the embassy and consulate in the kingdom to cast their ballot in the presidential elections, said Egypt’s Ambassador to Jordan Khaled Tharwat.

In statements to MENA correspondent on Thursday 1552014, Tharwat said that the number of voters in the polling station in Amman has reached until now 1,000.

He expected that the number of voters would increase after the end of working hours and also on Friday and Saturday.

Coordination and cooperation are maintained with the Jordanian side to secure the embassy, he added.

He further urged the Egyptian expatriates to vote en masse.

Egyptians will have to choose between the former army chief Abdul Fattah el-Sisi and Hamdeen Sabahi, who came third in the 2012 presidential election.
