Foreign Ministry – Voters Abroad Top 100 Thousand

The number of Egyptian expatriates who cast their votes in the presidential election has exceeded 100 thousand, the Foreign Ministry said.

A ministry statement described the turnout as high, taking into consideration that Friday in a national holiday in Arab countries.

Thursday marked the beginning of the vote-casting process for Egyptians living abroad.

The total number of expatriates who voted on Thursday alone has reached 55 thousand, said Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel Aati.

During the January 2014 referendum on constitutional amendments, the number of expatriates who cast their votes was 107 thousand.
