FM Meets Abbas in London

Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in London for talks on the latest Palestinian developments in light of efforts to break the stalemate in the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel Aati said.

Fahmy renewed Egypt’s full support for the Palestinian stance calling for resuming negotiations with Israel based on the peace process’s terms of reference, the spokesman said.

Egypt will spare no effort to help the Palestinians achieve their legitimate rights, including setting up an independent Palestinian State within June 1967 borders, Fahmy stressed.

Egypt will back the Palestinian leadership’s stance towards the peace process, he said.

Abbas expressed support of Egypt’s roadmap plan to set up a democratic State.
