Ethiopian Dam Crisis to Be Solved Through Dialogue

Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab said his visit to Equatorial Guinea which was wrapped up on Saturday has achieved all its goals.

In statements before ending his visit, Mahlab said the crisis of building the Ethiopian dam would be solved through dialogue and requires striking a balance of interests under which Egypt would get water and Ethiopia would get electricity.

He said the issue of the Ethiopian dam is not a war and should be handled in line with the balance of interests.

He said Ethiopia has the right to generate electricity but it should not infringe upon Egypt’s right to life which is represented in the Nile Water.
