Egyptians in France Start Vote in Presidential Polls

Egyptians in France started on Thursday 1552014 voting in presidential polls at the Egyptian Embassy in Paris and the Consulate in Marseilles.

Voters will have to choose between Hamdeen Sabahy, represented by the eagle symbol on ballots, and former Minister of Defense Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, represented by the star.

Automated IDs reader devices were installed at the embassy and the consulate to easily identity the voter and avoid double voting.

Egyptian Ambassador to France Mohamed Moustafa Kamal has earlier urged the Egyptian community to take part in the elections that will pick Egypt’s president for the next four years.

Voters have to present their valid IDs or passports to cast their ballots.

Voting for Egyptian expatriates will run for four days.

The Egyptian ambassador said necessary coordination was held with French security authorities to bar any attempt to block the voting process.

High voter turnout is expected at the weekend days of Saturday and Sunday.

The presidential vote is scheduled to open at home on 26-27 May.
