Egyptian Aid Allowed Into Gaza

An Egyptian aid shipment was allowed into the Gaza Strip via Rafah border crossing on Tuesday 2972014, an official source at the terminal said.

The shipment comprised 10,000 boxes of food supplies offered by the Egyptian Armed Forces, the source said.

The Egyptian and Palestinian Red Crescent societies worked together to move the aid into the besieged enclave.

On July 8, Israel launched a military operation dubbed Protective Edge against the Gaza Strip, striking at least 50 sites.

On July 17, Israel started a ground offensive in the besieged enclave.

The offensive, which left over 1,100 dead, is the worst escalation of violence between Israel and the Palestinians since 2012.
