Egypt Leads Discussions of Disarmament Conference

The activities of the Disarmament Conference in Geneva, under Egypt, will resume sessions on efforts exerted to make the world free from nuclear weapons after the failure of the 2015 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

It had failed to adopt a final document to set future steps for nuclear disarmament. Egypt was chosen to run the discussion about the measures needed to be adopted for nuclear disarmament in the meetings held by the Geneva Disarmament Conference in the period 11 -18 June, 2015.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Saturday1362015, Ambassador Amr Ramadan said that choosing Egypt for running the discussions reflects appreciation for its role in promoting international efforts to make the world free from nuclear weapons.
