Egypt Is Important Partner to France – French Ambassador

France’s Ambassador in Cairo Andre Baran described President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi’s visit to Paris this week as “very important” for both Egyptian and French sides.

Egypt is an important partner for France in all fields, the ambassador said on Sunday 23112014.

Baran expressed hope the visit will push up bilateral relations.

Sisi will hold a series of talks with his French counterpart Francois Hollande, the heads of the two chambers of Parliament, Prime Minister Manuel Valls, Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, Defense Minister Jean-Yves Odrian, and Economy and Financial Minister Michel Saban, the ambassador said.

The Egyptian-French talks will deal with the situation in Libya, Palestine, Gaza, Syria and Iraq along with African issues, he added.

Sisi will also discuss with the French officials ways to counter extremist groups, especially Daesh, he said.

The ambassador added that Sisi’s visit to Paris will be an opportunity for French companies to see deeper economic reforms implemented by the Egyptian authorities.
