Egypt, Austria FMs Discuss Boosting Bilateral Relations

Foreign Minister Sameh Shourky and his Austrian counterpart Sebastian Kurz have conferred on Egypt’s road map toward democracy.

Meeting on the fringe of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the top diplomats also discussed means of boosting economic relations between their countries, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel-Aati on Saturday 27092014.

Egypt is looking forward to a meeting of the joint economic committee to discuss financing a number of small and medium-sized projects, Shourky told Kurz.

They also discussed technical support offered by Vienna for Egyptian companies to help them tap the Austrian market, the spokesman added.

Regional issues, topped by the situation in the Palestinian territories, Libya, Iraq and Syria, also figured high in the meeting, Abdel-Aati said.

He added that the top diplomats talked about means to counter terrorism with focus on Egypt’s vision in this regard.
