Contacts With Libya to Release Detained Drivers – Spokesman

Egypt is holding intensive contacts with Libyan authorities after a number of Egyptian drivers were detained and their trucks were seized on Tobruk-Ajdabiya road in Libya, spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel-Atti said on Friday.

Egypt is also holding contacts with Libyan chieftains in the region to release the trucks and drivers, Abdel-Atti said, adding that the security situation in Libya especially in Benghazi is not stable in the current stage.

He reiterated the ministry’s warning to Egyptians not to travel to Libya by road and urged Egyptians living or visiting Libya to exercise utmost caution.
