Ceremony Held to Mark Launch of Friends of Egypt Group in UK Parliament

Egypt’s Ambassador in London Nasser Kamel took part in the ceremony marking the launch of Friends of Egypt Group in the British Parliament.

The ceremony, which was held at the headquarters of the British Parliament in the Palace of Westminster, was attended by members of the House of Commons and House of Lords as well as other British politicians.

Addressing the ceremony, Kamel extended his thanks to the members of the group for their valuable contributions towards enhancing ties between Egypt and Britain.

He said the activities of the group reflected the free Egyptian choices and conveyed a true image for the developments that took place in Egypt to the British public opinion.

The Egyptian diplomat reviewed the features of the democratic transition that Egypt has gone through, pointing out to the approach of holding the parliamentary elections in Egypt to complete the three steps of the political road map.

He expressed his aspiration to establish further communication between the members of the group and the Egyptian parliamentarians following the election of the House of Representatives.
