Army Urges Voters Not to Bring Belongings to Polling Stations

The Armed Forces have called on Egyptians who will be casting their ballots in the presidential election not to bring any bags or belongings to the polling stations.

The Egyptian people are urged to cooperate with security elements that will be deployed outside the polling centers on Monday and Tuesday, the army said Friday 23052014.

Cars and motorcycles should not be parked in the vicinity of the balloting stations, the army said, adding that street vendors are not allowed to approach there as well. This is done to make security measures easier and avert any attempt to hinder the voting process, it noted.

The Armed Forces have set telephone numbers for direct contact with their operation room in case of emergency.

The army said it is cooperating with the Interior Ministry to protect the vote.
