20,000 Cubic Meters to Be Dredged Per Day in New Suez Canal

Director of Dredgers’ Administration with the Suez Canal Authority Ahmed Sayed Ahmed said that the project of digging the New Suez Canal has undergone several stages, including designing, dry digging and dredging.

Ahmed added that the dredging stage reached nine meters depth, as about 20,000 cubic meters are currently being dredged per day in the new Suez Canal. He pointed out that dredgers work 24 hours.
